I really do. I suck. I can't even keep up with this blog for 30 days. Blah. Well, I will say, it's made me post more often than I have in the past year!! So, yay for 30 days meme thingys.

I do have to admit the past week and a half or so has been CARAZY with the people being out and all. And I have a program coming up on Monday that I'm not even slightly ready for. SO... yeah. I'm procrastinating the planning on that to post here where I've been procrastinating posting because of work. :P It's a big circle.

So, I'll put it behind a cut so I don't clutter your Fpage.

Day 13 → A fictional book

I guess I'm supposed to post a book that I like? I'm not really sure. I could just say The Wizard of Oz and leave it at that. But I'm going to promote a duology that I've been in love with since high school. The series is called the Mordant's Need Duology and was written by Stephen R. Donaldson. The first book is called The Mirror of Her Dreams and the sequel is A Man Rides Through. When I was in High School I hadn't been living in Edgefield very long. I had such a huge, vivid imagination that I was writing all the time about my secret worlds. At school, I felt completely invisible. Not that I did anything about it. I was so shy that it took a lot for me to talk to anyone! Terisa Morgan is rather the same way. She's painfully shy and she's so afraid that she's becoming invisible that she surrounds herself with mirrors. One night a man actually comes through one of the mirrors as if it's a door. He believes she is a Champion meant to save his world. He begs her to come with him and she does. Terisa finds herself in a medieval world of knights and dragons and war and magic and I always dreamed of finding myself in the same position. I love these books and still try to read them every year. I should probably put them on my list to read again. :)

Day 14 → A non-fictional book

I don't read a lot of Non-Fiction. It just doesn't ... do anything for me. I'd rather immerse myself in different worlds than my own. I guess I'm going to have to go with a cookbook. And a Paula Deen Cookbook at that. If you can hunt down The Lady & Sons Just Desserts you will NOT regret it. That book has some MAGNIFICENT desserts. And yes, they are fattening. And yes they have tons of butter and calories but they're SO WORTH IT.

Also, her microwave peanut brittle is fantastic!

Day 15 → A fanfic

This is called "Ah! Knights!". I first read it when I was reallllllly into King Arthur and watching it nearly every night before I went to bed. Really, I was obsessed with Gawain. Joel Edgarton is lovely. Anywho... I was just looking through the King Arthur fanfics for the heck of it and stumbled across this. It's silly. It gets really bad. But the beginning makes me laugh every time. I still go back and read it from time to time just for a quick laugh.

Day 16 → A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Tomorrow In Her Eyes by Ron Sexsmith. Here, have a link: Clickety-Click We had Adam's friend sing this at our wedding. It is BEAUTIFUL.

Day 17 → An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.)

My favorite piece of art:

I bought a print 10 years ago and it is still hanging in our apartment. (Or well, it was until yesterday when I put a picture of my Nephew into the frame. But it will return!)

Day 18 → Whatever tickles your fancy

I always forget how much I LOVE this show. I love Lorelei Gilmore so much.

Day 19 → A talent of yours

I mimic fairly well. I can do a mean impersonation of Elmo, the red furry Monster from Sesame Street. I can sound just like Blue from Blue's Clues. I do a lot of kids characters because I'M a Children's Librarian!

Day 20 → A hobby of yours

Collecting DVDs/Blu-Rays. I have tons. No. Really. Wanna see? My DVD Aficionado Profile. If you click on my "Owned" Folder you can see all my DVDs. Well, not really all. Because I haven't updated in awhile. I probably have about 20 more that aren't on there. And I didn't have the Blu-Ray player the last time I updated... so....yeah. There's more.

Day 21 → A recipe

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup:

This was amazing. In fact, now that I look at this recipe again I think I have to make this for Sunday dinner. It was so so so good.

Day 22 → A website

I've been obsessed with Neatorama for awhile now. I even did one of their Mystery Gift "Pay $9.99 and we'll send you something!" things a few months ago. It was ... not cool. I got this:

It didn't even make me laugh. But I still love the site. :)

Soooooo that was day 13 - day 22.

Sorry to have to catch up like that! :) Thanks for reading, if you read it! I hope you like the soup if you try it!! :) It's going to SNOW TODAY! I'm so excited you have no idea. I haven't seen snow in ages. I know some of you are sick and tired of snow and I don't blame you but we hardly ever get snow here. I just want to see a few flakes. :)

Anyway, hope you all have a fantabulous weekend! *hugs all around*
